Altadore is an established inner-city community in southwest Calgary, west of the Elbow River and just south of Marda Loop. It's known for tree-lined streets, quick access to River Park and Sandy Beach along the Elbow, and a steady wave of infill that has added newer duplexes and single-family homes alongside the original post-war bungalows.
Getting around
Altadore is very walkable — day-to-day errands in Marda Loop are a short walk (Walk Score in the low-to-mid 70s as of 2025 research). There's no C-Train station in the community; bus routes connect to Chinook station and downtown, and it's roughly a 12–18 minute drive to the Trans-Canada / Crowchild for trips west.
For families
The community is green-space rich — Altadore Park, River Park (a popular off-leash area), and the Sandy Beach pathways along the Elbow — with playgrounds throughout, and Marda Loop's shops and restaurants immediately to the north.
