Strathcona Park is an established community in west Calgary, built out through the 1960s and 1970s. It's characterized by mature trees, quiet residential streets, and smaller lots than the city's newer communities, with older housing stock throughout. It sits near the western edge of the city, close to the Bow River valley.
Getting around
Strathcona Park is car-oriented — Walk Score and Transit Score were both in the mid-to-high 20s as of 2025 research, with limited walkable commercial within the community. There's no C-Train station nearby; bus service connects to the 69th Street LRT station, and it's roughly a 10–12 minute drive to the Trans-Canada for trips west.
For families
The community is close to Edworthy Park and the Bow River pathways, and a short drive from the Westside Recreation Centre. Day-to-day shopping and most amenities are reached by car rather than on foot.
